UK-based artist Lisa Stevens pushes the boundaries of ceramics with her aquatic-inspired creations. Embedded with intricate details, these pieces mimic the colors and forms found by the sea. Featuring bright flowers and textured ridges, any of these sculptures look like they could've washed up on shore. Stevens has been capturing natural oceanic motifs for years. While her art has become increasingly elaborate, her process remains the same.

Gallery Walls Are Transformed Into Exquisitely Ornate Art Made of Cardboard

Humble cardboard is transformed into spectacular artwork by French artist Eva Jospin. Using the ubiquitous paper material, she creates cave-like architectural elements and smaller sculptures that showcase its versatility. Now on view in her solo exhibition titled Folies, each piece gives cardboard a voice. Sawed, inlaid, and stacked, Jospin creates a permanence to an ephemeral material.

Surreal “Stretchy” Ceramic Pots Imagine Souls Trying To Escape From Within

Artist Jackson Shaner creates pottery that borders on terrifying. His surreal vessels appear as the keeper of souls, and those souls are trying to escape. The screaming faces and tiny hands attempt to break the confines of the pots, stretching the sides and showcasing the vessels' malleable strength. (The pots, after all, are strong enough to contain the force of these beings.)

Watch Heath Ledger’s ‘Joker’ Come to Life as a Hyperrealistic Action Figure

There are action figures, and then there are the action figures by JND Studios. The Korean collectibles company creates hyperrealistic mini sculptures featuring characters from popular culture, particularly superhero and antihero movies. Harley Quinn, Cat Woman, Batman, and more are all done with a staggering amount of detail that faithfully recreates elements of the characters (such as their outfits) as well as the actors who portrayed them in the films.
